Hello!
I’m Anna, an artist and historian living in London with my husband and young son and daughter. I have had a career of many twists and turns, including farming, law, a PhD in history and writing books (‘The Utopians: Six Attempts to Build a Perfect Society’ and ‘Practical Utopia: The Many Lives of Dartington Hall’ – I am currently working on a new book about home-making seen through the eyes of writers and artists, to be published by Hodder & Stoughton).
Alongside this, I've always created art. I love observing and capturing the tenderness of family life, taking inspiration from my children. And I am drawn to the beauty of the natural world, cosiness, nostalgia, dreams of slower, rural life far from London – my family farms in Devon and I hope to get back there some day.
