This giclée print is a reproduction of my gouache painting 'In the Midst of Life’. Sociability becomes so much less civilised with children, but despite the spills and crumbs and tantrums, how little sleep I’ve had the night before, the impossibility of uninterrupted conversation, sitting around a table to eat with friends still seems to me one of the most magical things.
